The theme I
chose for my website was clothing, as it was the basic human need I am most
interested in. While doing research into clothing and fashion websites I
noticed that most websites do not categorize any clothing very specifically.
The search titles are as simple as shoes and jackets. Today there are so many
different styles and fashions, everyone dresses differently. One very
common influence for the way people dress today is music. Many styles
are derived from different genres of music and the styles present within these
genres. The simple concept for this website is to search through different clothing
and fashions based on music genres.
I tired to keep the final website on one page for simple navigation and keep it a very visual orientated website. the main page consists of 5 main tiles which are also the main menu buttons. clicking on a music genre themed tile will directly take you to a fashion image gallery to the corresponding tile. I think the design works well especially as it is a simple visual blog to explore different fashions and styles. The website works well on the ipad, however I would have liked it to work a little better on the iphone.
